The basic generator system provides you with satisfaction of generating your own power where and when you want it up to 300 Watts.   This generator bolts on to a square frame spin spin bike in just minutes.  Then you will need to tighten the roller against the outside wheel by following steps outlined in the instruction manual that comes with your generator adapter.

Once you have your generator setup you can use it to make a fun earth day display, charge batteries, upload power to the grid using a grid tie inverter, or convert your DC energy to AC to power up small appliances, computers, TVs, cell phones, etc.

If you are planning an interactive display for earth day or any kind of educational event where you want to educate adults and children about energy efficient light bulbs, then this option is for you.  You can plug in two power strips into this box.  One having an incandescent bulb which is the old fashioned power hungry type of bulb.  Then in the other power strip you can plug in a CFL or LED bulb.  People are amazed at how much easier it is to pedal with the LED or CFL bulbs.   

The grid tie inverter module allows you to plug your spin spin bike generator right into an AC wall outlet and start uploading energy to the AC power grid.  This will actually make your power meter spin slower and even backwards if you turn off everything in your house.  

If you want to go with the grid tie option, you may want pay $20 and get the P3 Watt Meter shown below.  It provides you with really nice data like Watts from your spin spin bike generator, Amps, Volts, KW Hours, and $ worth of energy. 

The data  below shows actual pedal power output flowing from the spin spin bike generator into the grid tie inverter.  You can see that at one point the rider was putting out a max power of 240 Watts.     

TEST RESULTS

The spin spin bike rider is a 40 year old man who works out 2 to 3 times a week.   It shows you recorded Watts over a  10 minute period.    The data was recorded using free software from http://Wattsview.com    NOTE:  The grid tie inverter is about 90% efficient so 100 Watts going into it yields about 90 Watts of power going onto the grid.
